A Blue named but Rainbow coloured set of bowls from Grimm’s. We put it down to a wonky translation from German to English but sadly our language skills aren’t good enough to be sure. It could also be that the biggest bowl in the set is the blue one so it got the naming rights.
This is a hugely versatile toy for open ended play. Ordering, stacking, and nesting will keep the littlest of hands busy. Whilst slightly older children will find no end of uses for the bowls in imaginative play.
What an interesting life these little bowls will lead - presenting produce for sale at the farmer’s market, serving daily specials from the neighbourhood cafe, and becoming embroiled in the dark art of mixing magic potions to turn annoying siblings into frogs.
Extend play options by combining with other pieces from the Grimm’s universe and use them to help bring some (admittedly temporary) order to the chaos.
The bowls also make lovely organising and display pots for gathered natural wonders and trinkets from drawer and cupboard treasure hunts at granny’s house. Sycamore spinners, dried thistle heads, conkers, dandelion puffs, thimbles, bits of chalk, long forgotten keyrings, dice, old coins (what’s a shilling?) all are transformed into priceless treasure when organised and deposited into their own little containers.
Made from alder and finished in linseed based oil.
